About Us
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) was established in 1994 and has completed 30 years of glorious existence. It is the only academic institution in India to have occupied a place among the top 100 world universities (under 50 years of age) by Times Higher Education in 2014. The campus is situated on a majestic 700-acre plot on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, around 20 km from the heart of the city. It is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, with hills, lakes, and woods within the campus.
