About Us
IIT Madras, established in 1959 with German assistance, is an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is situated in a beautiful, wooded land of about 650 acres in South Chennai. The institute is famous for its wildlife, including deer and blackbucks, which coexist with the academic community.
