About Us
National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal, formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC), was established in 1960. It was elevated to the status of an NIT in 2002 and declared an Institute of National Importance in 2007. The institute is located 22 km north of Mangalore city, along the Kanyakumari-Mumbai National Highway 66.
